Vegetation dynamics and its driving factors in agro-climatic zones of Upper Bhima Sub-basin, Western India

Abstract Climate change is a key threat to biodiversity and ecosystems. The impacts of climate on vegetation must be evaluated control the sustainability ecosystem. Precipitation temperature are most important climatic parameters affecting growth. It analyze spatial temporal variations under changing envisage response regional In this study, variation Normalized Difference Vegetation Index over five different agro-climatic zones in Upper Bhima Sub-basin from 2003 2013 was analyzed find effect hydrological variables dynamics. correlation analysis has been performed by using Pearson method Geographical Detector Model. Taylor diagrams generated highlight values NDVI with other variables. Results show that precipitation for growth vegetation, but Western Ghat Zone shows contradictory results. To identify reasons behind results Zone, such as soil moisture, terrestrial water storage groundwater levels analyzed. positive Water Scarcity Assured Rainfall 0.37, 0.462 respectively, but, negative (− 0.38) though more than average occurs region. result Model reveals dominant factors WGZ WSZ, respectively.
